The crew of the rescue vessel (SS) of the Pacific Fleet “Igor Belousov” conducted a planned exercise in the Sea of Japan to provide assistance to an emergency submarine lying on the ground.

According to the legend of the exercise, off the coast of Primorye, one of the submarines reported an accident on board and lay down on the ground. A Pacific Fleet rescue vessel with a deep-sea rescue vehicle was sent to the indicated area. At the “Igor Belousov” combat training ground, he found the location of the “emergency submarine” by sonar and, with the help of a remotely controlled unmanned underwater vehicle, examined the area of the bottom, where a mock-up of one of the sub’s compartments was mounted for training purposes.

To further solve the problems, the specialists of the rescue squad of the main base of the Pacific Fleet used the AS-40 deep-sea rescue vehicle.

The device was launched and searched for a submarine stand-model at a depth of about 60 meters.

The crew of the vehicle examined the coaming platform of the “damaged submarine” and performed the docking. Further, the Pacific Ocean conducted training on ventilation of the compartments of the “emergency submarine” and the withdrawal of its crew.
