Tomorrow, the championship of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in mini-football starts at the main base of the Northern Fleet. Eight teams from all military districts, the Northern Fleet, the Aerospace Forces and the Airborne Forces will take part in it.

Today, the players passed the credentials committee, and the grand opening of the tournament and the first games will take place tomorrow, April 6, in the sports complex “Start” of the main base of the Northern Fleet – Severomorsk.

The final and closing ceremony of the competition will be held on April 9.

The chief judge of the championship was appointed the head of the department of sports and outdoor games of the Military Institute of Physical Culture, Colonel Viktor Egorov from St. Petersburg. The panel of judges includes representatives of the Central Sports Club of the Army and the Physical Training and Sports Directorate of the Armed Forces of Russia.

According to the rules of the mini-football championship, teams consist of 12 players. On the court, five people play on each side: four field players and a goalkeeper.

This dynamic sport is very popular in the Northern Fleet. Competitions on it are usually held in gyms. The current champion of the fleet is the command of the army corps “Armata”. Its players form the backbone of the naval team.
