In the capital of the Trans-Baikal Territory, the first large-scale firefighting exercise this year was held, organized by employees of the housing and communal services of the Chita local garrison to extinguish a simulated fire and conduct emergency restoration work at one of the boiler houses.

According to the training plan, in one of the Chita districts at a heat generating facility (boiler house), a conditional ignition of oil products occurred during the unloading of a fuel oil carrier.

With the arrival of a fire signal, emergency services, firefighters, utilities and medical units were notified by the duty services. Arriving at the scene, the military police cordoned off the area near the boiler room, fire brigades deployed special equipment and localized the source of a simulated fire, with further spilling of a car with fuel. In turn, the emergency services checked the units and assemblies of the boiler room for operability.

As part of the training, the skills of interaction between the duty services, joint actions in extinguishing the fire of fuel oil at the boiler house and subsequent emergency recovery work were improved.

The exercises were attended by workers of the housing and communal services, fire brigades of the Eastern Military District (VVO), military police units of the garrison, the Trans-Baikal Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine, units of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Trans-Baikal Territory and the city’s rescue service.
