In Kostroma, the fifth championship of radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in army hand-to-hand combat (ARB), dedicated to the memory of the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, has come to an end.

Deputy Head of the Military Academy of NBC Protection named after V.I. Marshal of the Soviet Union S.K. Tymoshenko, Major General Valery Vasiliev, congratulated the winners of the competition and wished all the participants new victories, noting that at the present stage, army hand-to-hand combat is a martial arts actively developing in Russia.

The guests of honor at the closing ceremony of the tournament were representatives of the administration of the Kostroma region, participants in the liquidation of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The fifth championship of the RCB defense troops of the RF Armed Forces was attended by:

a team of the 28th separate NBC protection brigade (Kamyshin);

a team of the 27th separate brigade of NBC protection (Kursk);

command of the 10th regiment of the RCB protection (settlement Topchikha);

the team of the 4th RCB regiment of protection of the Black Sea Fleet (Sevastopol);

the team of the Military Academy of NBC Defense (Kostroma).

Competitions were held in seven weight categories: up to 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85 and over 85 kg.

The first place was taken by the team of the 28th separate NBC defense brigade (Kamyshin); the second place went to the team of the 10th NBC Defense Regiment (Topchikha settlement); bronze for the team of the Military Academy of NBC Defense (Kostroma).

In the individual championship, the winners were:

in the weight category up to 60 kg – Almat Zhumadilov from 28 separate compound of the RCB defense of the Southern Military District;

in the category of 65 kg – Nikita Filippov from the military unit of the NBC defense of the Central Military District;

in the category up to 70 kg – Davudov Abdula from the Military Academy of NBC Defense (Kostroma);

in the category of 75 kg – Seferbekov Askhab from a separate compound of the RCB protection (Kamyshin);

in the 80 kg category – Aleksandr Novikov from the military unit of the NBC defense of the Central Military District;

in the 85 kg category – Mardali Khatamov from a separate unit of the Western Military District;

in the category over 85 kg – Vakhidov Sadrudin from a separate unit of the RCB defense of the Southern Military District.

The first competitions of such a tournament took place in 1996 as part of the championship of the Kostroma Higher Military School of Chemical Defense.

Since 2011, the tournament has been held as an open championship of the Military Academy of NBC Protection, and since 2012, the tournament has been dedicated to the memory of the participants in the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.
