In the Astrakhan region, at the Ashuluk training ground, during a tactical exercise with live fire, crews of the air defense division of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and the air defense of the Western Military District carried out combat launches of anti-aircraft guided missiles against training targets.

The combat crews of the S-300 PM2 Favorit, S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems and the Pantsir-S combat vehicles took up air defense combat duty in the new positional area, marched to temporary duty positions, overcoming the areas of the “contaminated »Terrain, carried out a set of measures for degassing and camouflaging military equipment, completed the tasks of repelling a massive missile and air strike in the presence of active noise interference with the help of a simulated launch of anti-aircraft guided missiles of a simulated air enemy, in the role of which were fighter-interceptors of the MiG-31B formation …

The focus of the exercise was on the conduct of anti-aircraft combat with combat launches of anti-aircraft guided missiles. In the air raid, 10 missile targets were used, imitating modern and promising air attack weapons with different altitude and speed characteristics: high-altitude targets “Kaban”, hypersonic “Favorite”, as well as aerodynamic low-altitude missile targets “Armavir-MVU”.

Relocation to the point of permanent deployment is scheduled for mid-April.
