Representatives of the Kolyma-Plus TV channel visited the site that functions as a correctional center at IK-4 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Magadan Region. UFIC employees said that the institution began work in May 2019. It serves punishment for those convicted for committing crimes of small or medium gravity, or for committing a serious crime for the first time, as well as convicts for whom the unserved part of the sentence is replaced by a milder type of punishment.

The filling limit for the correctional center is 50 people. Convicts who have a professional education work as welders by profession. The rest of the convicts work as laborers. Almost all of them work in accordance with the existing qualifications in organizations and enterprises of the city of Magadan.

They were able to see how convicts make mobile homes, wood and metal products, and also learned that the development of production activities allows not only to resolve issues of self-sufficiency for convicts, but also their employment, allowing convicts to fulfill their claims.
