The crews of the T-80BV tanks of the Eastern Military District (VVO) carried out a fire defeat of the mock enemy at the Tsugol training ground in the Trans-Baikal Territory, using the tactics of a “tank carousel”. The peculiarity of firing by the “tank carousel” method was the pairwise, alternate firing of tanks. This made it possible to cover the conditional enemy with continuous fire and compensate for the time required to reload the tank gun.

“Tank carousel” is especially in demand when there is not enough information about the enemy’s weapons. Such tactics increase the survivability of combat vehicles and the effectiveness of hitting targets, and also makes it possible to conduct highly maneuverable combat, preventing the enemy from calculating and predicting the actions of a tank unit.

Also, the tasks of destroying manpower and a large number of “enemy” equipment were carried out by calculations of the modern heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A “Solntsepek” in the battle formations of a tank platoon. In the course of live firing, unguided rockets in thermobaric equipment were used to hit targets.

In turn, the artillery crews of the 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers completed the rout of the mock enemy from closed firing positions.
