Russian fishermen will be able to receive subsidies for partial compensation of fuel costs. State support will be provided already in 2021. This is stated in the amendments made by the Government to the state program “Development of the fishery complex”.

The decision will affect fishermen who fish in remote areas. For these purposes, the federal budget has already provided 461.5 million rubles. As noted in the state program, with the help of such support, the volume of sold products can reach 4.6 billion rubles.

The draft resolution, which will establish the rules for the provision of subsidies, has already been developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and will be submitted to the Government in the near future. It is expected that through subsidies, industry participants will be able to recover up to 30% of the costs of purchasing marine fuel.

The timing of the selection of applicants and the procedure for filing applications for state support will be determined by the Federal Agency for Fishery. This information will be published on the website of the department and on the single portal of the budgetary system of Russia no later than August 31st.

The state program “Development of the fishery complex” was approved by the Government in 2014. Among the main tasks are stimulating the production of domestic products, creating favorable conditions for business and attracting investments, restoring the raw material base of the industry and developing the scientific and technical potential of the fishery complex.
