Children’s Technopark “Engineeringium of MSTU named after N.E. Bauman ”will hold the annual district competitions in underwater robotics, they will be held on April 17 and 18. The tasks change every year, but they are always devoted to the problems of the World Ocean. This time, the guys will develop a remote-controlled underwater robot that can clean the surface and water column from plastic debris and solve problems related to the rescue of coral reefs.
“Competitions in underwater robotics have been held in Moscow for several years, but for the first time they will be organized by a children’s technopark. Of all such sites, only Engineeringium on Narvskaya Street is equipped with kits for this profile and an aquarium to prepare for operating such devices, ”said the head
Participants will be divided into two age categories – junior (students of the first – fourth grades) and middle (students of the fifth – eighth grades) schoolchildren. Each team must have no more than three people. To get to the competition, the coach must fill out a special form. The final of the competition will take place at school no. 654, which has a large swimming pool for the participants to test the robots. It will take place in two stages: first, the guys will complete the tasks, for each two attempts are given. You can solve them in any order, the main thing is to cope with as many as possible. At the second stage, the participants will demonstrate how the robot works, talk about its advantages and answer questions.
District competitions on underwater robotics have been held since 2015 as part of the project of the circle movement of the national technology initiative “Engineering contests and competitions in marine robotics”.
The regional stage of the Innopolis Open Olympiad will also take place in Moscow. The winners in the category “Intelligent Autonomous Unmanned Underwater Vehicles” will represent the Central Federal District in the final in Innopolis in June 2021.
