Today, SIZO-2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow (Butyrka Prison) was visited by director, actor and screenwriter Andrei Smirnov, author of such famous films as “Belorussky Station” (1971), “Autumn” (1974), “Frenchman” (2019) and director of the State Museum of the History of the Gulag Roman Romanov. The visit was necessary for the master to work on the script for the new film.
The meeting was attended by Acting Head of SIZO-2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for Moscow, Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service A.Yu. Shubin, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Center of the FKU TsNTL FSIN of Russia Alexandra Samarina, Chief Specialist of the Public Relations Center of the FKU TsNTL FSIN of Russia Tatyana Rylova. The excursion for the guests was conducted by Stanislav Solonenko.
During the event, Andrei Smirnov gave an interview to the film crew of the Russia-Kultura TV channel.
The guests got acquainted with the material and technical base of the institution, the conditions of detention, and also visited the museum exposition of the remand prison. At the end of the visit, Andrei Smirnov was given the opportunity to attend a reception of citizens by representatives of the management of the remand prison.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to walk with my feet through the corridors, to look into the cameras, to feel, first of all, what people feel, who are sitting here their deadlines. This is very important for working on the script for a new film that I have been working on for the last year and a half. I will not disclose its content, I will only say that this is a film about love, ”Andrei Smirnov said in an interview with the TV channel.
