Pilots of the air unit of the Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Eastern Military District (VVO) performed training flights on multipurpose helicopters Mi-8AMTSh “Terminator” at extremely low altitudes with concomitant monitoring of the forest fire situation in Transbaikalia.

The crews worked out the tasks of piloting combat vehicles and performed flights at extremely low altitudes – up to 50 meters above the ground. Such actions make it possible to hide helicopters from enemy fire as much as possible, using natural terrain shelters, and most effectively use army aviation to counter conventional illegal armed formations.

Also, the pilots worked out the tasks of finding and rescuing the conditionally injured, and their evacuation from the hovering mode. In addition, during training flights, the servicemen monitored the forest belt for the detection of fires.

For reference: the aviation unit stationed in the Trans-Baikal Territory is part of the Air Defense Army of the Eastern Military District. In service are the Mi-8AMTSh multipurpose helicopters, designed to transport cargo, personnel and air fire support. As well as attack helicopters Mi-24, which are used to destroy enemy personnel, armored vehicles and firing points.
