In 2021, more than 634 hectares of grain, oilseeds and vegetables are to be sown in the agricultural sector of the Altai Territory AIS. Thus, it is planned to grow buckwheat on an area of more than 227 hectares, sow sunflower on 390 hectares, and occupy more than 16 hectares with vegetables.

In preparation for the sowing campaign in the Federal Penitentiary Service of the region, a seed fund is being formed, fertilizers and plant protection products, fuels and lubricants are being purchased in the required amount. On the basis of the colony-settlement No. 7, correctional colonies No. 3 and No. 5, a review of agricultural equipment was held. A reserve arsenal of spare parts has been created to prevent disruptions in the spring field work due to equipment downtime associated with breakdowns and repairs.

Agriculture is one of the main areas of production activity of the region’s penal system. Crop and livestock products are processed using equipment installed in specialized production areas of the region’s colonies. These are mill complexes and cereal production, a line for the production of sunflower oil, a workshop for the production of dairy products, a workshop for semi-finished meat products, a section for the production of compound feed.

Own production facilities allow not only to fully meet the needs of the institutions of the Penitentiary System of the region for flour, cereals, sunflower oil, fresh and canned vegetables and other food products, but also to supply agricultural products and agricultural products to other territorial bodies of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the civil market.
