Schoolchildren shoot videos for the TikTok platform and talk about their favorite places in their city.
The deadline for submission of applications for the “Land of Discovery” video competition was extended until May 31. This is done so that as many schoolchildren as possible talk about the tourism potential of their regions. Already, competitive videos with the hashtag #country of discovery have entered the trends of the TikTok platform.
Teenagers aged 15 to 17 can take part in the competition. To do this, you need to shoot a video no more than three minutes long about your favorite places in your city: art objects, monuments, museums, parks and industrial enterprises. Then the video must be published on the TikTok platform, putting two hashtags – #country of discovery and the name of your city.
The competition is held in 10 thematic nominations. The key criteria for evaluating videos are clarity of the storyline, originality and novelty, the quality of shooting and sound, the presence of a motivational component. The winners will be determined by an expert jury, which includes popular travel bloggers, tiktokers, producers, representatives of the business and cultural community and government authorities.
Contestants can become ambassadors for their region and receive prizes from partners. Also, the winners will be able to go on an educational and tourist trip “Land of Discovery” together with famous bloggers and directors on a unique children’s train “Russian Railways”.

The project was launched on March 9. During this time, 12 training broadcasts were held from leading museums, high-tech companies, creative spaces and exhibition pavilions of the capital. The total number of views was 185 thousand.
The promo video about the start of the competition with the participation of its main ambassador Dani Milokhin collected more than 58 million views, and the total number of views by the #country hashtag on the TikTok video platform exceeded 165 million.
