By 2024, both countries plan to reach the $ 200 billion NOE mark.

In 2020, non-resource non-energy exports from Russia to China amounted to $ 16.3 billion, which is 13% more than in 2019 and is a new record.

As the press service of the REC clarified to, last year the export of Russian beef to the Middle Kingdom increased 4.5 times, the supply of rapeseed, poultry meat, sunflower oil and sweets doubled. In 2020, Russia supplied more than 80 thousand tons of sweets to China, which is 21% more than a year earlier.

The General Director of REC JSC Veronika Nikishina noted that the countries have set a goal for themselves in 2024 to reach the level of $ 200 billion under the NOE. This can be done by:

opening new niches in non-resource non-energy exports. Positions in the export of the agro-industrial complex will be especially promising;
the revival of logistics routes, many of which are now closed due to the raging coronavirus pandemic. Thus, of the nine agroexpress trains that REC assembled by hand and launched together with Russian Railways Logistics, only three are now operating.

REC is currently developing new tools for promoting the Chinese market, strengthening the synergy of online and offline sales so that domestic exporters can quickly integrate and start selling.

“China is distinguished by an extremely high level of online retail, if in 2019 it was about 22%, then at the moment it is more than 30%. For comparison, the world average is 8-9%. However, Chinese consumers buy online only familiar products, with known packaging, composition and quality, ”says Veronika Nikishina, Director General of REC.
