In the capital, the improvement of Sadovnicheskaya Embankment, Sadovnicheskaya Street and Raushsky Lanes has begun. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government Peter Biryukov
“The main goal is to create a comfortable walking area on the embankments, to reveal their recreational potential, while maintaining the transit function,” he said.
According to him, about 11 thousand meters of overhead cable lines will be removed into underground collectors. More than 200 cable wells will be made for additional connection or repair. The asphalt will be changed on the roads, the sidewalks will be paved with granite tiles. Experts will make storm sewers and install 80 storm grates.
On Sadovnicheskaya Street, near the George Gershwin Children’s Music School, the asphalt will be decorated with a drawing in the form of a score with notes and a treble clef, lined with pomegranate amphibolite.
To make the path of pedestrians safer and more comfortable, about 320 lamps with energy-saving lamps will be installed. Another 380 special lamps will appear on the parapets of Sadovnicheskaya Embankment.
In addition, 400 small architectural forms, six navigation steles, eight modern stopping pavilions for public transport passengers will be installed.
They will also be engaged in landscaping – they will put in order the existing lawns and break new ones. Their total area will exceed four thousand square meters. More than 740 “squares” of flower beds will be laid out on Sadovnicheskaya embankment and Sadovnicheskaya street.
“One of the tasks of the improvement is landscaping the territory, all existing green spaces are planned to be preserved. In addition, more than 70 new large trees will be planted, including a red maple and a decorative apple tree. They will create a protective zone between the sidewalk and the road, ”added Pyotr Biryukov.
The main improvement works are planned to be completed in August this year.
From 2011 to 2020, 32 embankments were landscaped in the city. Thus, a pedestrian route from the Moscow City business center to Taganskaya Square with a total length of 19 kilometers.
