On April 7, Russian-Colombian political consultations took place in the format of a videoconference. On the Russian side, they were attended by the Special Representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for relations with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, Director of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs A.V. Shchetinin.

In a constructive spirit, the sides thoroughly considered topical issues on the bilateral agenda, expanding interaction at multilateral platforms, including on mutual support of candidates for international organizations. A list of priority measures has been outlined in order to give impetus to bilateral relations in various fields.

The Colombian side expressed gratitude for the contribution of Russia as a permanent member of the UN Security Council to international efforts to support the post-conflict settlement in Colombia.

The participants in the consultations agreed to continue regular contacts in order to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
