A detachment of ships and support vessels of the Northern Fleet, led by the frigate “Fleet Admiral Kasatonov”, passed the Pas-de-Calais – the narrowest part of the English Channel.

The squad moves towards the North Sea, where the weather is improving. Earlier, due to a storm along the route, the frigate and support vessels made a stop in the international waters of the Seine Bay.

A detachment of ships and vessels of the Northern Fleet started to pass the English Channel three days ago.

The first long-distance cruise of the newest Russian frigate “Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov” has been going on since December 30 last year. For more than two months, the ship operated in the Mediterranean Sea, visited the ports of Algeria, Greece, Egypt, Cyprus, Syria and Turkey and conducted a series of exercises alone and in cooperation with other ships and aircraft of the Russian Navy.

The frigate’s long voyage is provided by the Nikolay Chiker rescue tug and the Vyazma medium tanker.
