Today in Samara, the first training of a mechanized convoy took place in preparation for the Victory Parade. As part of the parade crew, two launchers of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system were presented for the first time.

The complexes entered service in December 2020, and on January 31, 2021, they were put on alert in the Samara region. This made it possible to increase the capabilities of air defense calculations of the Central Military District by one and a half times in the defense of airspace over the Volga regions.

The training was carried out at the Kryazh airfield. The armored car “Tiger” headed the parade line of military equipment. The convoy also included Patriot pickups, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Uragan and Grad rocket systems, and Iskander-M operational tactical missile systems. In the first training session, no tracked vehicles were involved. These are BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles, T-72B3 tanks and Msta-S self-propelled howitzers.

In total, about 40 units of military equipment were involved in the training. Joint training of foot and mechanized columns will begin on April 20.
