On April 10, at around 9.30 am on the Konya – Aksaray highway, a road accident occurred with the participation of a bus transporting a group of 32 Russian tourists to Cappadocia who were on vacation in Antalya via the Pegas Tourist tour operator.

According to preliminary information received from Turkish law enforcement agencies, the bus driver lost control of the road on the icy road due to bad weather conditions, drove into a ditch, as a result of which the vehicle overturned.

As a result of the road accident, 26 Russians were injured. Unfortunately, the Turkish authorities have confirmed the death of one of the Russian tourists. The victims were taken to the nearest hospitals in the settlements of Konya and Selcuk. They are provided with emergency medical assistance.

Employees of the Russian Embassy in Ankara urgently went to the scene to provide consular assistance to the victims and clarify the circumstances of the incident.
