More than 200 employees and 60 pieces of equipment will be involved in them.

In Moscow on Wednesday, April 14, a large-scale command post exercise will be held to practice actions in the elimination of an emergency situation (ES) in the event of a flood. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov.

“As part of the exercise, the capital’s firefighters and rescuers will work out actions in the event of an emergency associated with a flood, and the organization of measures to ensure accident-free passage of flood waters,” said the deputy mayor.

According to the tactical concept of the exercises, during the flood pass in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative areas, the territory of the Voronovsky settlement was flooded due to overflow of water at the pond dam. In this zone there are 83 summer cottages and personal plots, more than 60 people need to be evacuated.

The exercises will involve more than 200 employees and 60 pieces of equipment, including helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, a boat, inflatable boats with motor pumps, engineering and emergency recovery equipment.

The exercise will allow once again to work out the algorithm of actions in the event of an emergency, to develop new methods of response and to test in practice unique samples of the latest equipment.
