Total Dictation was held in Omsk – an annual educational international action in the format of a voluntary dictation for all comers, designed to awaken interest in their native language and develop a culture of literate writing.
One of the sites for organizing the dictation was the branch of the Military Academy of Logistics (MTO) named after General of the Army A.V. Khrulev. The action was attended by 290 people – both Russian cadets and representatives of foreign countries. This is not the first time this kind of events have been held in an educational institution, attracting more and more people every year.
The dictation assignments were received from the organizers immediately before writing in sealed packages, which ensured the most honest organization of the dictation. It is noteworthy that all of them, the participants, wrote their works with a minimum number of errors and thus showed a high level of proficiency in Russian.
Carrying out such events, aimed at identifying the general literacy of servicemen and civilian personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, is an integral part of the indicator of the cultural level of the army, which in some way affects the defense capability of the state.
A total of 76 countries took part in the action. All participants at the same time wrote one text, formed according to the work of the writer Dmitry Glukhovsky, which, according to professionals, turned out to be very difficult punctuation by ear and a little easier to write.
