Auditorium K.E. Tsiolkovsky Military Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces named after Peter the Great demonstrates unique samples of spacecraft in the series of programs “Military acceptance”.

On the eve of the anniversary of the first manned flight into space, author and presenter Alexei Egorov interviewed Colonel Demyan Makarenko, professor of the department of the Strategic Missile Forces Military Academy named after Peter the Great, about the history of space exploration and spacecraft.

The audience managed to collect more than 30 unique samples of spacecraft and systems for various purposes. Among them – a genuine technological model that participated in ground tests of onboard equipment during the preparation for the first flight of an artificial earth satellite in 1957, the Zenit series spacecraft, the Soyuz-21 spacecraft descent vehicle piloted by the crew of Boris Volynov and Vitaly Zholobov, technological model of the Soyuz-TM spacecraft, the first sample of the family of spacecraft – Molniya-1, intended for government communications and television broadcasting, the Mars-Venus spacecraft, space photography vehicles and other interesting exhibits.

Modern auditorium named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky is a multifunctional research platform that provides students with competencies in the field of military-technical analysis of the structures of rocket and space technology products.

The Academy is connected with space not only with its famous audience.

In the branch of the university – the Serpukhov Military Institute of the Missile Forces – the road to near-earth orbit began for the Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut Colonel Alexander Artyukhin and Hero of the Soviet Union, Colonel Alexander Alexandrov, commander of the Soyuz T-9 and Soyuz-TM crews.
