This is the conclusion reached by the participants of the annual international media forum of young journalists “Dialogue of Cultures”, which was held on April 14 in St. Petersburg for the fifteenth time. For the first time in the history of the forum, a separate session was devoted to the Eurasian theme. Journalists and bloggers from the countries of the Union spoke openly about the problems they face and what is needed to increase the audience’s interest in the activities of the EAEU. First of all, countries and people need to communicate more and trust each other, to integrate in the cultural sphere, and the Commission needs to speak openly about what interests citizens.
Iya Malkina, the official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, noted the lack of awareness of the citizens of the EAEU countries about the activities of the integration association and called on young journalists and bloggers to cover more Eurasian integration.
“The Eurasian Economic Union is our reality, even if we don’t think about it. The Commission is working to form the Union as a space of opportunities where the young generation can self-actualize, ”she stressed.
The event was attended by leading journalists and media leaders from the EAEU countries, including the managing director of the RBC TV channel Ilya Doronov, the dean of the Higher School of Television at Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov Vitaly Tretyakov, deputy editor-in-chief of IA Regnum Marina Zakharova, executive director of news agency Rossiya Segodnya Kirill Vyshinsky, chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists Andrei Krivosheev, editor-in-chief of the Vesti Nedeli program Nikolai Yenikolopov, as well as other journalists and bloggers.
Ashot Dzhazoyan, Chairman of the Commonwealth of Journalists Media Congress, Secretary of the Union of Journalists of Russia, moderated the meeting. During the meeting, Ashot Dzhazoyan presented awards to TV presenters Vladimir Pozner and Zhanna Badoeva as the best journalists according to the younger generation of media representatives and bloggers.
The media forum was organized by the Commonwealth of Journalists Media Congress and the State Hermitage, with the support of the EEC and the Eurasian Development Bank.
By the way, on the same day at the EEC headquarters, representatives of the media and industry analytical publications of the EAEU countries received accreditation cards for working at open events of the Commission, valid for a year.
This year, the Commission has conducted permanent media accreditation for the first time. This was done in order to ensure the openness of the work of the EEC and create the necessary conditions for the professional activities of journalists from the countries of the Union.
Applications for accreditation were received from such mass media of the Union states as MIA Rossiya Segodnya, MIA Sputnik, IA TASS, Interfax, RBC TV channel, Mir TV channel, BelTA, Kazinform IA, Khabar TV channel, Belteleradiocompany , National Television, Public Television and Radio Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic, Public Television of Armenia and others. More than 70 journalists are on the list for accreditation.
The accreditation cards were presented by Daniyar Turusbekov, Director of the Protocol and Organizational Support Department of the EEC.
As a result of closer information cooperation between the Eurasian media and the Commission, citizens of the EAEU countries will promptly receive up-to-date and objective information on Eurasian integration.
The 15th anniversary international media forum “Dialogue of Cultures” has been for 15 years one of the largest platforms in Russia, where every year young journalists, photographers of traditional and digital media, directors, media experts, as well as bloggers and independent journalists from more than 30 countries meet. jointly looking for answers to modern media challenges, presenting their cross-border projects aimed at overcoming alienation between representatives of different cultures and faiths.
