The crews of the Su-34 multipurpose fighter-bombers of the Central Military District (CVD), as part of a control check during the winter training period, destroyed the airfield and simulated enemy aircraft at the exercise, which ended at the training ground in the Kurgan region.

During the exercise, the Su-34 crews flew into the area of combat use and launched single missile strikes against ground targets. To destroy the airfield infrastructure and airplanes of the imaginary enemy, fighter-bombers launched unguided C-13 air-to-surface missiles, operating from different directions and heights. In addition, the crews practiced anti-missile maneuvering, flights at extremely low altitudes, as well as elements of maneuver combat with the interception of training air targets.

All practical actions of the pilots were recorded by means of objective control, which were installed on combat aircraft, as well as on the ground in the area of combat use. Analysis of the data obtained showed one hundred percent defeat of all targets.

12 Su-34 fighter-bombers, more than 200 military personnel from among the flight, engineering and technical personnel, control and flight support group were involved in the tactical flight exercise, which took place as part of the verification check.
