Russia, according to preliminary estimates, in February 2021 exported 11.4 tons of gold worth $ 673 million, follows from the data of the Federal Customs Service. In physical terms, this is 26% more than in February last year, although 17% less than in January this year.

The main country-recipient of Russian gold remained Great Britain – 11 tons for $ 650 million. But it cannot be concluded from statistics whether gold remains there or is sent to other countries, since London is an important world hub for the turnover and storage of precious metals.

Also, approximately 0.2 tons of gold, as follows from the data of the Federal Customs Service, were exported to Kazakhstan and Switzerland in February, deliveries in other directions were insignificant.

In just the first two months of 2021, gold exports from Russia amounted to 25.1 tons by almost $ 1.5 billion, compared to the same period last year, it increased in physical terms by 37%.
