Servicemen of the armored divisions of the Central Military District (CVD) have restored the famous military Studebaker truck, which was supplied to the Soviet army during the Great Patriotic War under Lend-Lease, according to archival drawings. The restored retro equipment will take part in the passage of the mechanized column of the Victory Day parade in Yekaterinburg for the first time.
At the initial stage of restoration and restoration work, the military personnel of the Central Military District recreated the lost parts of the body, chassis, weapons of historical military equipment. At the assembly stage, special attention was paid to the accuracy of fitting units and parts. The equipment has passed the first run-in and is ready for painting, which will take place at the end of April.
The basis for the reconstructed “Studebaker” was the chassis of a large-capacity off-road truck ZIL-157, similar in size to a foreign truck.
Also, technical specialists from the Central Military District restored a pair of serial Soviet armored personnel carriers of the 1950 BTR-40 model, which were delivered to Yekaterinburg from an weapons storage base in the Moscow region.

BTR-40 (GAZ-40) – Soviet light armored personnel carrier of the 1950s was used, in addition to transporting personnel of motorized rifle units, mainly as a multipurpose reconnaissance, communications or command vehicle, as well as an artillery tractor.
In total, about 2.5 thousand people will be involved in the military parade in Yekaterinburg, including about 1.5 thousand from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, over 100 units of modern and historical military equipment and more than 10 aircraft will be involved.
