Lebanon expects to attract Russian investments, including in the electric power industry. This was stated on Thursday by the appointed chairman of the Lebanese Council of Ministers Saad Hariri in Moscow during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“You know that the difficulties are associated with the fact that so far we [in Lebanon] have not been able to form a government that would take up comprehensive reforms. I am sure that this will happen. Hariri also expressed hope for continued cooperation with Russia in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, especially taking into account the “difficult socio-economic situation in Lebanon” and the presence of 1.5 million Syrian refugees on its territory. In this regard, he recalled that Moscow is already providing relevant assistance to Beirut by providing vaccines against coronavirus, which are actively used during the vaccination campaign that has begun in the country.
