Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will pay a working visit to Belarus on April 16 and hold talks in Minsk with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers.

“The heads of government will discuss topical issues of Russian-Belarusian trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the energy, industrial, transport and agricultural fields. Relations between Russia and Belarus

As noted in the apparatus of the government of the Russian Federation, Russia and Belarus are constructively interacting within the framework of the Union State, implementing the program document “Priority areas and priorities for the further development of the Union State for 2018-2022.”

In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic and the global slowdown in economic development, the foreign trade turnover of Russia and Belarus decreased by 17.3%, to $ 29.5 billion.Russian exports amounted to $ 16.4 billion (a decrease of 25.6%), imports from Belarus – $ 13.1 billion (down 4%). More than 80 constituent entities of the Russian Federation maintain trade and economic ties with Belarus.

Russia firmly holds the first place in terms of accumulated investments in the Belarusian economy. In 2020, they exceeded $ 4 billion. Almost 2.5 thousand companies with the participation of Russian capital operate in Belarus.

From February 8, passenger railway communication between Russia and Belarus was resumed. Since April 1, the number of scheduled flights has been further increased.

Combating the pandemic together

As part of the joint fight against COVID-19, Russia sent Belarus, free of charge, kits of test systems and reagents for detecting infection (in total, for conducting more than 55 thousand studies), as well as respirators and other personal protective equipment. Belarusian volunteers took part in clinical trials of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. Belarus became the first foreign state to officially register this vaccine. On March 25, 2021, its production was launched on the territory of Belarus using Russian technologies.
