In spring, Mospriroda specialists hang birdhouses in green areas.
In the spring, birdhouses and other bird houses appear in the natural areas of the capital. Specialists Mosprirody do them themselves or with the help of volunteers and schoolchildren.
This year, as part of the “Hello Birds” campaign in honor of the International Bird Day (April 1), master classes were held, the participants of which helped to collect artificial nests. Twice as many birdhouses have been made this year than last year. In 2020, about 140 artificial nests were made and hung in all natural areas, in 2021, more than 200 houses are already ready in forest parks, and about 100 more are planned to be hung.
Mostly titmouses and birdhouses are made for birds. However, the titmouse is inhabited not only by the titmouse, but also by sparrows, redstarts, pied flycatchers, nuthatches and twirling necks. Birdhouses can accommodate, for example, sparrows and any medium-sized hollow nesting birds.
After the bird houses are hung on the trees, Mospriroda specialists begin to observe them and record which birds live in them, when they have offspring, when the chicks begin to get out of the nest.
