Cadets of the Peter the Great Military Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces took part in the VI International Olympiad in Military History. It took place at the Military Academy of Logistics named after General of the Army A.V. Khrulev.

The competition was attended by over 240 people from more than 30 universities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, two universities of the Ministries of Defense of Belarus and Armenia, as well as 8 military training centers – 45 teams in total.

In the first round, the teams competed in the nominations “Enemy at the Gates” and “Get Up, the Country is Huge”. Here it was necessary to complete tasks related to the main events before the Second World War and the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress.

In the second round, in the nomination “We will not falter in the battle for our capital,” tasks were presented on the significance of the Battle of Moscow in Russian and world history.

The nomination “No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten” is dedicated to perpetuating the memory of the fallen soldiers in the names of settlements and streets, the activities of the search movement to find and burial the fallen defenders of the Fatherland.

In the nomination “Through the Pages of Memory”, knowledge about the reflection of the events of the Great Patriotic War in memoirs, as well as in fiction and scientific literature was tested.

On the third day of the Olympiad, the participants competed in the historical and biographical biathlon “Through the Pages of Memory”, and a competition of captains was held (on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nevsky).

In the Olympiad, the cadets of the branch demonstrated a high level of knowledge of the history of military affairs.
