Russian airlines will be able to receive subsidies from the state to pay lease or rental payments for domestically produced helicopters. This will allow updating the aircraft fleet and increasing the number of traffic in hard-to-reach regions of the country where such equipment is used.
State support will apply to helicopters that are used for regional and local transportation. The main condition is that the aircraft must be released no earlier than 2016, according to the decree, which was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The amount of the subsidy depends on the year of production of the helicopter and its capacity. Thus, the maximum amount – 56.9 million rubles – can be obtained for leasing a helicopter no older than one year, designed for 11-30 passenger seats.
The program to subsidize the leasing costs of airlines was launched in 2012, but all this time it was applied only to aircraft. The issue of its expansion was discussed within the framework of Mikhail Mishustin’s working trip to the Kamchatka Territory. The general director of one of the industry enterprises addressed the head of government with a request to include helicopters in the program. Mikhail Mishustin supported this initiative and, after returning to Moscow, instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance to prepare and submit to the Government a corresponding draft resolution.
“It is important to ensure the connectivity of territories, to develop communications, so that people can get more conveniently from region to region,” Mikhail Mishustin said at an operational meeting with the Deputy Prime Ministers on April 19.
The document will be published.
