Grishko Vasily Sergeevich was born on April 18, 1926 in the Valyn region, Turin region, in the village of Ozeryany. In 1942 he was sent to forced labor in Germany in Hanover, where in 1945 he was liberated by Soviet troops and after returning to his homeland, at the age of 19, he was drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces and began service in the 643rd mortar regiment of the Kiev military district as a gunner – squad commander. 1956 became for Vasily Sergeevich defining his further professional purpose – he was appointed head of the clothing supply department of the 161st separate aviation technical battalion of the 1st ATD. After serving in this position for six months, Vasily Sergeevich became the head of the baggage and clothing supply.

After serving in the army for more than 35 years, he retired to the reserve as the commander of 178 OBATO with the rank of colonel and continued to work as part of the food supply for the personnel of the Migalovsky garrison, having worked from 1979 to 1984 as the head of the canteen of the military department, and from 1984 to the present is the head of the officer a dining room in the 12th Military Transport Aviation Division.

During his service he was awarded numerous military orders and medals.
