On April 19, 1861, two fire brigades were formed, which gradually replenished their ranks, creating fire departments in cities and villages of the republic, improving every year the technical equipment and special training of personnel. Today, the security of about 700,000 citizens of the republic is provided by the North Ossetian firefighters.

The fire brigade of North Ossetia is 17 fire and rescue units and 1 specialized fire and rescue unit, more than 1300 personnel, including about 80 people of the fair sex.

More than 150 soldiers and 50 units of main and special-purpose fire fighting equipment take over the duty every day. Since the beginning of 2021, more than 500 fires have occurred on the territory of the republic. Today, the fire brigade of North Ossetia is a powerful, ramified system in the structure of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in North Ossetia-Alania, equipped with modern fire-fighting, special and auxiliary equipment, fire-technical weapons and communications.

The fire brigade of North Ossetia includes real fighters who, in the most difficult times, not only fulfill their official duty, protecting people and property from fire, but also instill confidence in the future and hope in citizens.
