From Mikhail Mishustin’s opening remarks at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers, April 19, 2021

Of this amount, 45.5 billion rubles will go to events within the framework of the federal project “Development of the federal backbone network”. We are talking, in particular, about the reconstruction of the routes R-22 “Caspian”, A-114 Vologda – Novaya Ladoga, M-25 Novorossiysk – Kerch, M-5 “Ural”, M-7 “Volga” and a number of others. Thanks to additional financing, certain sections of the highways will be rebuilt, as well as new roadside infrastructure facilities will be created.

Another 40 billion rubles will be spent on the construction of a 700-kilometer high-speed highway Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod – Kazan, which will become the basis of the international transport corridor Europe – Western China. Completion of the work is scheduled for 2024.

Finally, 7.6 billion rubles will be allocated to individual projects in the regions. Among them – the construction of the Western Bridge in Tver, a road bypassing Maikop, an exit from Ufa to the M-5 “Ural” highway.

The decision was announced by Mikhail Mishustin at an operational meeting with the deputy prime ministers on April 19. Financing will increase the pace of road construction, increase the transport connectivity of the regions and remove a number of logistical restrictions that hinder the socio-economic development of the territories.
