Snipers of the Russian military base of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in Abkhazia, during control exercises, destroyed a simulated enemy at maximum ranges during the day and at night.

At the Tsabal and Nagvalou training ranges in mountainous conditions and on the Black Sea coast, the servicemen made a covert advance to a firing position, overcoming three kilometers through a wooded area. Upon arrival in the designated area, the snipers organized the main and false firing positions. After receiving the coordinates, the sniper pairs destroyed targets at distances from 300 to 1000 m with SVD and Vintorez sniper rifles.

The servicemen also carried out reconnaissance of targets using modern technical means of observation and aiming, including portable laser reconnaissance devices LPR-3. Having detected the target and determined the setting for shooting, the snipers used the tactics of a synchronous shot, hitting various targets at ranges of up to 1 km.

In total, about 700 people took part in the control check. Particular attention was paid to effective camouflage through adaptation to the terrain, largely skillful use of the vegetation cover.
