In the Tula Guards Airborne Formation, the Cup of the Commander of the Airborne Forces in judo has come to an end.

This tournament is being held for the fourth time and gathers the strongest judo paratroopers.

More than 60 servicemen took part in the competition as part of 10 teams of formations, military units and airborne forces.

At the opening ceremony, the tournament participants were greeted by the commander of the Tula Guards Airborne Force of the Guard Colonel Yevgeny Tonkikh, the chief inspector of the competition – the judge of the All-Russian category, the master of sports of Russia, Lieutenant Colonel Eduard Safiulin, the chief judge of the competition – the judge of the All-Russian category, the honored coach of Russia Vitaly Salnikov, veteran – airborne troops, honored master of sports, winner of various international tournaments in mixed martial arts Magomedkhan Gamzatkhanov (Wolf-Khan), who wished the participants of the tournament a fair fight and victory for the strongest.

In addition, the chief inspector of the competition presented the medals of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “For Military Valor” and “For Distinction in Competitions” to servicemen who showed good results and made a great contribution to the victory of the Airborne Forces in the Games of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2020.

Athletes of the Airborne Forces are the strongest in this type of martial arts in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and, as a result, a hot and uncompromising struggle unfolded on the tatami.

According to the results of the tournament, the team of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Formation took the first place, the cadets of the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelova, the third were representatives of a separate special-purpose guards unit of the Airborne Forces from Kubinka near Moscow.
