In accordance with the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, to increase career guidance in educational institutions of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Navy, cadets of engineering specialties of naval institutes will get acquainted with a unique multimedia virtual photo exhibition of JSC PO Sevmash, the largest shipbuilding enterprise in Russia. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the Shipbuilder’s Day, which is celebrated on June 29.

The uniqueness of the exhibition lies in the fact that it is built on rare frames – recently declassified photographs of Project 971 third-generation nuclear submarines (designed by SPMBM Malachite), which are popularly called the Animal Series. The reason for this nickname is simple – many ships of this project are named after large predators of the feline family – “Bars”, “Panther”, “Leopard”, “Tiger”, “Cheetah”. The contours of these missile carriers are so perfect and aesthetic from an architectural point of view that it is a great merit of the designers and shipbuilders. Accompanied by responsible suppliers, commissioning mechanics and technologists of “Sevmash”, visitors can walk through the virtual exhibition. The shipbuilders of the famous Severodvinsk enterprise, who created these ships, will tell in the audio version interesting stories from the period of the birth of nuclear-powered ships and about the peculiarities of their construction.
