In Osaka, Japan, the World Team Trophy, an unofficial figure skating team championship, has ended. As part of the Russian national team, the best in the tournament were two army figure skaters – Elizaveta Tuktamysheva and Mikhail Kolyada.

For the first time in history, the Russian national team won the World Figure Skating Team Championship, which has been held every two years since 2009.

At the end of the tournament, the Russian skaters scored 125 points, 15 points ahead of the second-placed US team. The top three were closed by representatives of Japan – 107 points.

The Russian team included two figure skaters of the Army’s Central Sports Club – Elizaveta Tuktamysheva and Mikhail Kolyada.

The captain of the Russian national team at this tournament, Tuktamysheva in the short program became the second, and in the free program she showed the third result, bringing 21 points to the total piggy bank of the national team.

According to the results of the short program, Kolyada became the fifth, having put 8 points in the piggy bank of the national team. And he finished the free program in third place, bringing 10 points.

In addition to the army, Anna Shcherbakova, Yevgeny Semenenko (women’s and men’s singles skating), Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov (sports couples), Victoria Sinitsyna and Nikita Katsalapov (dance duets) performed for the Russian national team in Japan.

Previously, the World Team Championship was won four times by the Americans and twice by the Japanese. The Russian national team won silver medals in 2013 and 2015, bronze ones in 2019.

Tuktamysheva, who participated in the World Team Trophy three times, has collected a full set of medals in this competition in her career.
