A meeting was held between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Russian-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation – Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk and First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Artyom Novikov.
During the meeting, the priority tasks of expanding Russian-Kyrgyz trade and economic cooperation were considered. Particular attention was paid to the progress of joint work on the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to Russia on February 24-25, 2021.
The Russian side confirmed its readiness to start deliveries of the Sputnik V vaccine for the population of Kyrgyzstan. The republic has officially registered the Sputnik V vaccine against the new coronavirus infection, in connection with which the country is ready to include the Russian vaccine in the vaccination program, as well as to start supplying the vaccine to the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission discussed the legal status of the stay of migrants from the Kyrgyz Republic on the territory of the Russian Federation and the issue of regulating the legal status of foreign citizens staying on the territory of the Russian Federation in violation of the established order of stay. The Russian side provided clarifications on the procedure for registering the legal status of foreign citizens until June 15, 2021 without applying administrative measures and the need to leave the territory of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, issues of interaction in the field of digitalization were also touched upon. Agreements were reached on the preparation of proposals and projects aimed at developing investment cooperation, economic integration, humanitarian cooperation and in other areas.
In the coming weeks, the parties will prepare a list of issues for discussion at the planned meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation. The Russian side confirmed its readiness to continue supporting the Kyrgyz Republic in the spirit of strategic alliance and partnership.
