Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the military-industrial complex during a scientific-practical conference in Kazan will discuss improving the combat and operational characteristics of modern tanks in service with formations and military units of the Ground Forces.

The conference will be held on April 22-23 at the Kazan Higher Tank Command School under the leadership of Colonel-General Vasily Tonkoshkurov, Chief of the General Staff of the Ground Forces. It will be attended by representatives of the central bodies of military command, the Federal State Budgetary Institution “38 NII BTVT” and the 3rd Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the command and teaching staff of the Kazan VTKU, employees of JSC “Corporation Uralvagonzavod”, JSC “UKBTM” and JSC “Concern” Sozvezdie ” …

During the round tables, participants will discuss the results of exercises, operation and combat use of the T-72B3, T-72B3M, T-80U, T-80BVM and T-90A tanks. In addition, the conference will raise issues of improving operational characteristics (maneuverability, power, reliability, controllability) and improving combat potential (command controllability, information content of sights, capabilities for detecting and identifying targets, convenience of working with aiming and surveillance organs). The participants will also consider the main areas of modernization of main tanks, development prospects and tactical and technical requirements for promising models.

The result of the scientific-practical conference will be the development of proposals (recommendations) for improving the characteristics, improving the design of modern tanks and simulators intended for training crews of combat vehicles.
