As part of the control check during the winter training period, the crews of the missile ship “Tatarstan” and the missile boat “Stupinets” of the Caspian Flotilla are working out combat training missions for their intended purpose as part of the ship’s tactical group.

At the first stage of the test tactical exercise, the crews successfully carried out artillery and anti-aircraft fires in the Caspian Sea ranges. The ship’s crews destroyed landing boats and simulated enemy aircraft from standard anti-aircraft artillery complexes and installations ZRAK “Broadsword” (“Palma”), 76-mm AU AK-176M, 100-mm AU A-190 “Universal”, 30-mm ZAK “Duet” (AK 630-M2).

Also, the naval tactical group of the flotilla completed the tasks of maneuvering ships and approaching a sea target at a set distance, destroying a sea target, mine, anti-aircraft and anti-submarine sabotage defense while parked in an unprotected roadstead.

At the final stage of the exercise, the Caspian sailors will work out the tactics of conducting a training naval battle, elements of joint navigation, combat maneuvering and withdrawal from combat as part of a tactical group. In addition, the crews of the CFL will search for and destroy the ships of the mock enemy with a missile strike, using data from their own surveillance and detection equipment.

In total, more than 300 sailors of the flotilla take part in the control check, about 20 surface ships, boats and support vessels are involved.
