Volgograd hosted the first planning conference of representatives of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of India on the organization and preparation of the international Russian-Indian tactical exercise “Indra-2021”.

Members of the delegations of the two countries began to agree on the concept of the exercise, the composition of forces and equipment, the procedure for crossing the state border, and the organization of material and technical support.

The joint Russian-Indian military exercise “Indra-2021” this year will be held at the Prudboy training ground of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in the Volgograd region.

The combat training event is planned to involve about 250 servicemen of the Indian Armed Forces and about 250 servicemen of the Southern Military District.

Also, members of the Indian delegation climbed to the main height of Russia – Mamayev Kurgan – and visited the monument-ensemble “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad”.

The guests of Volgograd saw the main monument “The Motherland Calls!”

The plan for the combat training of the Southern Military District in 2021 provides for the participation of the district’s military personnel in international exercises with units of the armed forces of Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Armenia, Algeria, India, Kazakhstan and Pakistan.

International joint activities are aimed at strengthening and developing military cooperation between countries.
