Students will be able to attend practical classes at partner universities and participate in internship programs in the media and media companies.
The admission campaign of students in new media and IT classes of city schools has started, reported Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
“The development of pre-professional education is one of our priority tasks. Today, high school students in the capital have a unique opportunity to master the professions of the future in demanded areas – information technology and media. Our schoolchildren can choose to study in pre-professional IT classes since 2019. This direction is becoming more and more in demand every year. Twice as many schoolchildren were enrolled in IT classes this academic year than in the previous year. And since September 2021, we are opening media classes in partnership with leading universities in the media industry and mass communications. Schoolchildren will have the opportunity to attend practical classes at partner universities, as well as participate in internship programs in the media or media companies, ”said the vice mayor.
On the portal of pre-vocational educationin the projects “IT class in a Moscow school” and “Media class in a Moscow school” sections “Admissions Campaign – 2021” have been opened. After studying them, students will receive all the necessary information about admission.
For admission to the IT class, ninth graders need to take an online test. It will take place on May 15 and will include 20 questions from the fields of physics, mathematics, computer science and general IT competencies. The partners are 13 specialized federal universities and more than 200 domestic IT companies. The project helps high school students make an informed choice of their future profession, and for universities and companies – to create a basis for training specialists.
Ninth graders who want to enter the new media class also have an entrance test. It will take place in May and will include two stages. On May 6, a computer test will take place to assess literacy and the ability to work with information, and on May 13, schoolchildren will write an essay – a creative task with the help of which experts will assess how well the participants speak modern Russian, are able to reason and think critically. This stage will be held at the base educational organizations… To participate in the entrance test, ninth-graders must register in the system by April 30 my.mtsko.ru.
The project “Media class in a Moscow school” is just starting this year, 57 schools will take part in it. It is being implemented jointly with 13 universities – leaders in training specialists in the field of the media industry and mass communications. Major news agencies and leading media will become partners of the project.
Media class students will be able to participate in internships in media companies and the media, attend practical classes at the faculties of journalism, media communications and public relations, and train the skill of public speaking in theater universities.

Since 2015, in partnership with leading universities, scientific organizations, high-tech enterprises and companies, engineering, medical, academic, cadet and pedagogical classes have been opened in Moscow schools.
