During his working trip to Sarov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko inspected the site of the technopark. Here, within the framework of the Big Sarov project, the National Center for Physics and Mathematics (NCFM) and a branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University will appear. Their creation was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin and included in the program of events for the Year of Science and Technology.
The event was also attended by the rector of Moscow State University. MV Lomonosov Victor Sadovnichy, Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom Alexey Likhachev, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev and Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin.
“Sarov is the center of the country’s scientific and technological growth. There is already an infrastructure, personnel, technologies, scientific continuity here. And now, creating, in fact, a new scientific and educational cluster, it is necessary to focus on attracting young scientists, equipping youth laboratories for them. There are 400 of them all over the country. So far, two have been created in the branch of Moscow State University; the number must be increased. There are all possibilities for this. At least one for each direction. In addition, it is necessary to create joint basic departments and research units with regional universities, develop competencies on the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center, ”said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
He noted that during training, students should not feel isolated, it is also necessary to work out the creation of cultural programs. Young people should have a place to spend their leisure time. The Vice Prime Minister examined the physics workshop, laboratory and computer classes. At the moment, two youth laboratories have been created. It is planned to double their number next year. We will open the branch on September 1. It must be attractive, must have very strong students, masters, it can be specialists, graduate students. In turn, the General Director of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” Alexei Likhachev said that the educational process will involve unique experimental installations of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics, so that young scientists from all over the country can use the capabilities of the nuclear center in the interests of fundamental science.
“Rosatom is equipping the MSU branch in Sarov at the highest level, which will allow future masters to conduct workshops and study in first-class laboratories and computer classes,” said the head of Rosatom.
“We at the RAS must now provide new formats for organizing science in order to learn how to quickly implement projects. The new functional decision on the creation of the National Center for Physics and Mathematics will make it possible to realize the most important tasks facing us through experience, interaction, and the achievements of this center with our science, ”said Alexander Sergeev.
Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin said that one of the main tasks of introducing digital technologies is to make the life of ordinary citizens more convenient, safer and more comfortable. In this regard, several dozen significant projects are being implemented in the Nizhny Novgorod region at once. A Document Processing and Community Outreach Center was created, and the Smart City project is being implemented.
“I am sure that with the support of Rosatom in the Nizhny Novgorod region, large-scale tasks for the digitalization of the region will be successfully solved. Our task is to increase the attractiveness of the territories of municipalities, to form effective interaction between the executive power, residents and business, ”added Gleb Nikitin.
Dmitry Chernyshenko also instructed the Ministry of Education and Science, the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, together with the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, to work out the issue of creating a Super S-Tau Factory within the framework of the project. This is a setup for conducting experiments in the field of elementary particle physics. It will allow responding to the most modern challenges of science.
