From spring to autumn, they are able to get their own food on their own.

In winter, in the natural areas of Moscow, the townspeople traditionally feed the birds, which is necessary for the birds. However, feeding should be discontinued in warm weather.

Specialists Mosprirodyremind that under favorable weather conditions animals do not need human help. In spring, summer and autumn, wild animals and birds are able to find their own food on their own, being included in the food chain of ecosystems of natural territories. Now there is enough food – ducks feed on aquatic plants, invertebrates, small fish, tadpoles.

Additional food in warm weather damages ducks – their natural instincts are dulled and they become dependent on humans. Waterfowl may even get out of the habit of looking for food on their own.

A large number of birds and animals live in the natural areas of Moscow. Mospriroda employees regularly keep track of them. So, recently in the museum-reserve “Kuzminki-Lyublino” they noticed the Red Book teal whistles… In “Tsaritsyno” I managed to photograph a gray-headed gull and a gray-headed woodpecker; wiggle – stocky duck. In total, over the past year, experts have recorded more than 40 species of birds and more than 10 species of mammalsIncluded in the Red Book of Moscow.
