Two naval anti-submarine strike groups (KPUG) of the Primorsky flotilla of diverse forces of the Pacific Fleet, as part of a control check during the winter training period, conducted an anti-submarine exercise in the Sea of Japan.

The tactical groups included the Corvettes “Perfect” and “Loud”, as well as small anti-submarine ships (MPK) “Sovetskaya Gavan” and “Blizzard”. In the Gulf of Peter the Great, they worked out practical tasks of finding and attacking a simulated enemy submarine using anti-submarine weapons.

A large diesel submarine of the Pacific Fleet operated for the mock enemy. She carried out covert maneuvering in the exercise area.

In cooperation with the Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft of the naval aviation of the fleet, frigates and IPCs discovered a submarine and attacked it with anti-submarine weapons. Small anti-submarine ships fired a salvo with rocket depth charges, and the frigates conventionally used the small-sized anti-submarine and anti-torpedo complex “Packet” against the submarine.
