From 21 to 22 April 2021, a meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Hydrometeorological Services of the Armed Forces of the CIS member states (hereinafter – the Coordination Committee, KK HMS) and the round table of the leadership and specialists of the hydrometeorological (meteorological) services of the armed forces.
Representatives of the Ministries of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the work of the Coordination Committee and the Round Table. In accordance with the agenda, the meeting summed up the results of the activities of the HMS QC in 2019-2020, approved the work plan of the Coordination Committee until 2025, and considered a number of issues of organizing interaction between hydrometeorological (meteorological) services of the armed forces.
The participants in the meeting confirmed the desire to improve the forms and methods of interaction between hydrometeorological (meteorological) units of the armed forces of the CIS member states while ensuring joint training of the armed forces of the Commonwealth countries, implementing new approaches to the exchange of hydrometeorological information on natural hydrometeorological phenomena, as well as further improving and developing multilateral military and military-technical cooperation in the field of military hydrometeorology.
During the meeting, the need to intensify the development of cooperation in priority areas of activity, defined by the Concept of Military Cooperation of the CIS Member States until 2025, was noted. Among them: improving the system of hydrometeorological support of the national armed forces; increasing the level of military-professional readiness of specialists of hydrometeorological (meteorological) services; hydrometeorological support of joint activities of operational and combat training of the armed forces of the CIS member states.
The decisions taken during the meeting of the Coordinating Committee of the Hydrometeorological Services of the Armed Forces of the CIS member states are aimed at developing multilateral military cooperation between friendly armies, taking into account common and national interests.
