On the eve of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, the employees of the Russian Defense Ministry’s Representative Office for organizing and conducting military memorial work in the PRC for Russian diplomats and students of the school at the Embassy held commemorative events and thematic excursions to the places of military glory of Russia in the areas of Lushunkou (Port Arthur), Qingyunjie and Jinzhou of Dalian City.

In Dalian, three large Russian military cemeteries have survived, where there are burials of soldiers and officers of the Russian army who died in the line of duty in the late 19th – early 20th centuries, during the Russian-Japanese war of 1904-1905, graves of Soviet soldiers who died on the territory China in August 1945 and during the Korean War 1950-1953. Here are also buried Soviet servicemen, their wives and children who died during the stay of Soviet troops on the Liaodong Peninsula in 1945-1955.

Diplomats and employees of the Russian Embassy in China, the Consulate General in Shenyang and the Representation of the Russian Ministry of Defense (for organizing and conducting military memorial work abroad) in the PRC, as well as representatives of local public organizations, laid a wreath and fresh flowers at the memorial to Soviet servicemen at the largest in Asia Russian military cemetery in Lushunkou district. The area of ​​the military necropolis is 4.8 hectares; 1720 monuments, obelisks and sculptures have been installed here. After the ceremony, the participants of the ceremony examined the forts and harbor of Port Arthur.

Students of the school at the Russian Embassy in China visited the Qingyunjie Russian military cemetery. By the efforts of young patriots, the inscriptions on the gravestones were renewed. A visit was also organized to the third surviving Russian military cemetery in the Jinzhou region, where young Russian citizens also had the opportunity to touch the military history of the 20th century and pay tribute to the memory of Russian soldiers who fell far from their homeland.
