In the Leningrad region, servicemen of the special-purpose units of the combined arms army of the Western Military District have begun conducting airborne training in the Pskov region.

The servicemen will work out measures for landing from a Mi-8 helicopter and an An-26 aircraft, orientation in the terrain, covert movement and making marches over distances of more than 15 kilometers.

In the course of practical training, servicemen will undergo a special training course for laying D-10 parachutes, perform preparatory jumps on a special training and training complex, practicing actions in the event of emergency situations and special cases in the air.

During the week, each soldier will make a landing with weapons and equipment in accordance with his specialty, from a height of 500 to 800 meters.

After the jump, the special forces groups will have to perform camouflage after landing, correctly fold the parachute, collect at the specified point and make a foot march to the designated area.

Experienced instructors and mentors are involved in the training of military personnel, many of whom have combat experience. In total, more than 150 servicemen of the combined arms army of the Western Military District will take part in practical exercises on airborne training.
