Members of the Movement presented a video about an event that turned the tide of the Great Patriotic War. We are talking about the battle for the capital of the Motherland, which unfolded at the end of 1941! The plot was prepared within the framework of the All-Russian literary competition “Two Captains”, which the Main Headquarters of the Movement conducts jointly with the publishing house “Children’s Literature” with the support of the museum complex “Memory Road. 1418 Steps to Victory “.

“Today I learned what it means not to surrender and not to retreat. “Not a step back, behind us – Moscow!” – so said those who went into battle. Germany was advancing quickly and swiftly. Its main goal was to capture the heart of the country – the capital. It was Operation Typhoon. After all, everyone knows that there is no life without a heart! That is why it was so important for the Soviet army to repulse the enemy and prevent the capture of Moscow, ”the youth soldier Yegor Shikharev shares his impressions of what he saw.

Fierce battles were fought near Moscow, and the capital itself was bombarded with incendiary bombs. On the way of the enemy stood the cadets of the infantry and artillery schools, tank brigades, paratroopers, saboteurs, and civilians. All who could, at the cost of their own lives, delayed the advance of the enemy to the capital.

The Yunarmeytsov, who filmed the short film, were most struck by the fact that despite the offensive of the Nazis, on November 7, 1941, a parade was held in the center of Moscow on Red Square, which was a symbol of fearlessness, the guys say. Perhaps it was this that gave the army confidence, and as a result, already on December 5, 1941, the enemy was driven back from Moscow at a considerable distance.

In total, it is planned to shoot 8 videos within the framework of the project. The members of the Movement have already removed 5: about the defenders of the Brest Fortress, about the feat of the partisans and home front workers, as well as about the blockade of Leningrad and the defense of Sevastopol. The guys are keenly interested in history. The topics covered in the plots became the basis for literary works and illustrations that were submitted to the competition. This year it is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of heroic battles and battles in the Great Patriotic War.

The submission of creative works for the “Two Captains” competition has already been completed. Works and illustrations went to the jury. Until the end of April, a special commission will determine the winners in three nominations: “Best Story”, “Best Poetic Work” and “Best Illustration”. On April 19, voting began on the website, as a result of which it will be found out who will receive the “People’s Choice Prize”.

The best authors will be awarded on June 1 in Moscow, as part of the International Children’s Day. The works of the winners will be published on the official websites of VVPOD “YUNARMIA” and the publishing house “Children’s Literature”.

All-Russian youth military-patriotic movement “YUNARMIA” was created in 2016 at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense and with the support of the President of Russia. Now there are almost 800,000 participants in its ranks – the most daring, the most courageous, the most initiative guys. The main task of the movement is patriotic education, as well as the physical, intellectual and social development of young people.
